Like a Million Parachutes

The sky is still gray. Snow is falling down. Our yard looks like a black and white movie. Sigh. This winter has really been getting to me…I guess I am sick of the cold and feeling blue. I’ve been super bummed lately and anxious. James has been so encouraging and loving and keeping my spirits afloat despite his long work hours.

I want warm colors and blue skies!

Work is closed today. This morning we took our cars into the city parking garage for free weekend storage, stopping for coffee and walking back through the snow. We laughed on the way home because one of the barista’s at the coffee shop had a small sword tucked into his fanny pack. Yes, small sword.

I am happy to be inside and warm with James. We are really thankful for this time to just spend together. Last night we got stocked up on snackies. We’ll be working on freelance work, cleaning, laundry, reading, plus watching movies.

Lastly, I’d like to share a song that resonates today. I am a Sixpence None The Richer fan. A lot of people think they are LCD CCM. Well, yes, they got a bad rap in the 90’s because their song “Kiss Me” ended up in a suxors Freddie Prinz Junior film:

So you may be thinking “Groan”.  Do not judge them because of this song. They are not to be underestimated! They are one of two or three christian groups I will actually recommend and defend. Who cares if there is some nostalgia fueling my love for their music (I saw them play in a church when I was in high school—youth group city!).

Good tunes for snow day blues…

Sweetie, is the coffee man going to challenge me to a duel if I don’t order fair-trade?

Kristin: Yes he had a sword heheeh it was so random!

Ross: The cat’s DVD was hilarious. It was very unscientific and totally goofy. We loved it though and laughed a lot!
