Fun Tunes for Cold Days

Every once in a while we’re going to share some music on here.

A fun-electro-disco-dancy mix of songs:
♦ One Life Stand – Hot Chip
♦ Dance, Dance, Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah) – Chic
♦ Elegant People – Flying Pop’s
♦ This Beat Is Mine – Vicky D
♦ Michelle Plays Ping Pong – Daisy Daisy
♦ Nice Mover – Gina X Performance
♦ Disco Village – J. Elliott Group
♦ The Girl from Ipanema – Astrud Gilberto
♦ Never Gonna Let You Go – Jobell & The Orchestra
♦ Hypnotic Tango – My Mine
♦ Revista Moda – The Hexx
♦ Footprints – Stratus
♦ Glorious Dawn – Symphony of Science
♦ Channel 1 Suite – The Cinematic Orchestra

P.S. I added the song by Chic because we heard a sermon last night at church given by Paul Zahl. James and I couldn’t believe we were hearing disco references from the pulpit, much less stories about the group Chic! Go here to hear more from him. There are some really excellent talks and sermons to choose from (and not just because he likes disco).

Oh and why the obscure music references? As it turns out, Paul Zahl’s son is DJ JAZ, an Oxford-educated, world-famous DJ whose blog is positively righteous! James and I both love his mixes, but didn’t know he was Paul Zahl’s son…who knew there were other Episcopalians out there like us?

Amazing sermon that referenced Chic, Studio 54, and one of my favorite movies!

Also, JAZ made one of my favorite mixes of all time, Show Me On The Doll (Part 2), which I first heard years ago from some dark, secret corner of the internet, long before I knew that being a Christian didn’t preclude you from having good taste in music.

    Good call on the mix.
ps- I completely empathize with you on wondering about other Episcopalians and their tastes. I often wonder the same thing about Catholics who are like me… are they out there?
